Bendable plywood has a sandwich structure composed of layers of plywood and foam. The properties of each combine to provide a balanced, flexible building material that behaves as a single new entity. The challenge of creating flexible plywood was to find the right balance among the material properties of plywood and foam. Layering and separation offer many possible configuration for this new material. Adhesively bonded, the layered materials become a composite material that combine the material properties of plywood and the springiness and softness of foam.
